Portsmouth Residents Can Expect Plenty of Yuletide Cheer During the 31st Annual Grand Illumination Parade on Nov. 21
November 16, 2015
Can't wait 'til Thanksgiving to get in the holiday spirit? You're in luck! Downtown Norfolk's annual Grand Illumination Parade will return for its 31st year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, bringing with it dazzling seasonal floats, local marching bands and dancers, and plenty of Yuletide cheer!
This year, the parade's theme is "Musical Madness." But before the parade steps off from the corner of St. Paul’s Boulevard and Main Street, town officials will lead a countdown culminating in the illumination of the Norfolk skyline. After the city buildings are set aglow, eventgoers will disperse along the parade's two-mile route, which will snake its way throughout the streets of Norfolk before ending at the intersection near the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel.
Free and open to the public, the 2015 Grand Illumination Parade takes place 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21. Food will be available for purchase. Hope to see you there, Portsmouth!
