Become a Small-Scale Shipbuilder at the Brick-by-Brick LEGO Shipbuilding Event Near Portsmouth

February 3, 2016

If you or your kids love building with LEGOs, you may want to try your hand at the Brick-by-Brick LEGO Shipbuilding Event near Portsmouth. This annual competition is celebrating its fifth year running, and it offers area residents of all ages a chance to compete to build the best LEGO ship in town.

At the Brick-by-Brick LEGO Shipbuilding Event, participants will either work to build their own LEGO ships at home or come prepared to build a complete ship on site at the Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center. No matter which of these two categories you enter, you’ll then be eligible to win fabulous prizes from the panel of judges from the Hampton Roads Naval Museum. Awards will be presented to five winners from each age category, as well as a fan favorite chosen by the crowd.

Those who don’t compete in the shipbuilding portion will also get to see other fun, scientific demonstrations, including LEGO robotics expositions, hands-on programming and underwater vehicle competitions from SeaPerch.
