Halloweekend at the Portsmouth Museums

Gear up for some spooky fun at the Portsmouth Museums this Halloweekend!
From October 20 through October 22, Halloweekend will feature a series of events at The Children’s Museum of Virginia, Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center and Lightship Portsmouth. Events are fun for families, children and adults, and they include storytelling, costume contests, horror story readings, trick or treating and more.
Friday, October 20th from 7-9 p.m.
The Portsmouth Museums present If Tombstones Could Talk at the Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center.
Saturday, October 21st from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Scavenger hunt at the Children’s Museum of Virginia. Crafts such as pumpkin decorating, black light art, and face painting will also be available. At 2:30 p.m., join the museum in a “monster mash” parade around the museum to spooky music, and participate in “trick or treating” inside the museum. Costumes are encouraged!
Saturday evening, October 21st at 7 p.m.
Fright Flight event at the Portsmouth Art and Cultural Center. Join five horror story authors as they read original short stories with a hint of drama. Geared toward adult audience.
Sunday, October 22nd from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Mystery of the Lightship at the Lightship Portsmouth. Help solve the mystery of creepy sounds and sightings that have occurred on the LV-101 ship during this family-friendly scavenger hunt.
